Normally when I post I try to give something for others to think about, this time I need your help in giving me something!

I am sad to say that I haven't brushed up well enough on SEO's and I don't know anything about it. Can someone point me in a direction? Something with vocab definitions to it.

According to me SEO is the way to promote your site, it will help you to come up in ranking by targetting keywords. SEO can give you the best possible result but for that you have to follow some steps which will give you the ranking and traffic.

Well, SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a critical component of a properly developed website.
